Getting a Three-Year CARF Accreditation: Consultation and Technical Assistance in Preparing for CARF Behavioral Health Accreditation
Designed for those organizations who have received a one- year or provisional accreditation
The North Carolina Evidence Based Practices Center is please to provide a technical assistance specifically designed for those organizations who received a one year or provisional accreditation on their original survey. Building a system of quality, value and a person-centered approach to the delivery of behavioral health services requires a full review of all administrative and service delivery aspects of your organization.
This approach will provide your organization the training, tools and coaching in order to have a successful accreditation survey and most important, put in place those systems that will provide the highest quality and value to the person served.
STEP 1: One Day On-Site Review
Our consultants will provide a one- day on-site review of your practices, documentation, accreditation report, quality improvement plan and develop a road map for full conformance with standards. Not only will we focus on work to be done but also strengthening those process that were in conformance to ensure the hard work completed during the first survey is still in place.
STEP 2: Accreditation Preparation Toolkit
Organizations will be provided during the training a toolkit which includes an assortment of key guidance documents to include sample forms, sample policies and plans, documentation preparation checklists, and typical interview questions.
STEP 3: Ongoing Communication, Coaching and Guidance
We will be your personal accreditation coach with ongoing emails, telephone calls and monthly conference calls on mutually agreed upon topics. As policies, procedures and plans are developed they are submitted to your coach for review and comment from a surveyor perspective insuring that all documentation meets the CARF standard.
STEP 4: On-Site Practice Survey, Practice Survey Report and Recommendations
Our consultants will come on-site and conduct a survey as if it is the real thing with documentation and site review and staff interviews. You will receive a sample report with recommendations so it will be very clear what more needs to be done to have a successful accreditation survey. In addition, you will remain in ongoing contact with our consultants until the day of the survey.
